The design of this watch commemorates 140 years since Seiko Watch Corporation began as a watch repair shop in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan. The striking “paved” dial motif is inspired by the very first Western-style stone paved areas in Ginza – urban changes spread as the area and the country as a whole began to prosper. The blue-gray dial color 'Konparu-iro' represents both today's Ginza area – the reflections of the sky in the sophisticated glass cityscape – and one of the cultural colors of Japan.
